VinCore vinyl floors - which collection to choose? WOOD, WOOD+, HERRINGBONE and HERRINGBONE+

VinCore vinyl floors - which collection to choose? WOOD, WOOD+, HERRINGBONE and HERRINGBONE+

The choice of flooring usually starts with the color, but the format and durability are equally important: classic board or herringbone, standard or reinforced wearing layer, residential interior or high-traffic space. The VinCore offer includes four collections of vinyl floors: WOOD, WOOD+, HERRINGBONE and HERRINGBONE+. They share the same structure, but differ in format and operational parameters. Below is a summary of the differences and tips on which collection will work for a given application.

What do all VinCore collections have in common?

All VinCore floors have the same structure and the same basic properties. Regardless of the collection chosen, the floor remains waterproof, acoustically comfortable and easy to install.

Hard SPC core and fully waterproof

VinCore panels have a rigid SPC core, i.e. a composite of stone and polymers. The floor is fully waterproof, so it can also be used in the kitchen and bathroom. The rigid structure also allows you to compensate for slight unevenness of the surface, which facilitates installation also during renovation.

Integrated underlay and a quieter home

Each panel has an integrated IXPE foam backing, which does not require a separate purchase. The underlay reduces impact sounds by 19 dB, which improves acoustic comfort both in the room and in the premises below.

Resistance to intensive use

The top layer is protected by a matte, scratch-resistant polyurethane coating. VinCore floors:

  • passed 25,000 cycles in the chair wheel resistance test without noticeable changes
  • They have R10 anti-slip properties
  • they are resistant to UV rays, so the color should not fade in large windows
  • They have a reaction to fire class Bfl-s1 and a formaldehyde emission class E1

Click installation and underfloor heating

All collections are laid using the floating method, connecting the panels with a click lock, without glue. VinCore floors are also approved for installation on underfloor heating, under the conditions described in the installation instructions. They are also produced using renewable energy and internally recycled raw materials.

How are the collections different? Two decisions to make

Choosing the VinCore collection comes down to two issues. The first concerns the appearance: classic board or herringbone. The second one concerns durability: the standard version or the reinforced version with plus.

Board or herringbone

The WOOD and WOOD+ collections are classic boards measuring 180 × 1220 mm with a regular wood structure. This format fits virtually any interior, and long boards visually lengthen the room. The HERRINGBONE and HERRINGBONE+ collections are 125 × 625 mm tiles in a classic herringbone arrangement with a delicate wood structure. Herringbone gives the interior a more elegant, decorative character, but requires more careful planning of the layout before installation.

Standard or plus version

Collections with plus have a thicker panel and a wear layer over one and a half times thicker. It is what protects the pattern against abrasion, so it has the greatest impact on how long the floor will look like new. Plus versions also have a higher utility class for commercial facilities and a longer warranty for home use.

WOOD collection - universal board for home and apartment

WOOD is a collection in board format for universal use. The wear layer of 0.30 mm and class 23 correspond to intensive domestic use, and class 31 allows the floor to be used also in commercial facilities with moderate traffic. The collection works well in living rooms, bedrooms and offices. The decors are inspired by Italian regions and reflect the appearance of oak and hickory.

WOOD decors:

  • ABRUZZO - a warm, honey shade of wood that immediately warms up the interior
  • AMALFI - light gray wood, good for modern and Scandinavian arrangements
  • MILANO - natural, slightly olive brown
  • PERUGIA - light, natural wood with a calm grain
  • SICILY - gray-brown decor with distinct knots, rustic character

HERRINGBONE collection - herringbone for elegant interiors

HERRINGBONE combines the elegant classic herringbone arrangement with the parameters of the WOOD collection: wearing layer 0.30 mm and class 23/31. The collection includes four oak and one ash decors, inspired by French regions and cities. Herringbone looks particularly good in living rooms, bedrooms and halls, where it is a clear decorative element of the interior.

HERRINGBONE decors:

  • BRITTANY - natural wood in a medium, calm shade
  • CORSICA - warm, golden oak
  • NORMANDY - light, natural oak
  • PROVENCE - light wood in a warm, beige tone
  • STRASBOURG - the lightest decor in the collection, in a cool, almost white shade

[WOOD+] collection(/products?collection=wood-plus) - reinforced board for intensive use

WOOD+ is a board in the same format as WOOD, but with a thicker 6 mm panel and a 0.55 mm wear layer. Class 33 allows it for heavy commercial use, and the warranty for home use is 25 years. The collection is intended for rooms with the highest traffic intensity: halls, corridors and open living areas with kitchens, as well as offices, shops and service premises. The decors are inspired by the architecture of Italian cities and reflect the appearance of oak and ash.

WOOD+ decors:

  • BARI - light, natural oak
  • NAPOLI - deep, dark brown, one of the darkest decors on offer
  • PALERMO - light wood in a natural, warm shade
  • ROME - golden decor with clear grain
  • TORINO - very light, gray-white wood

[HERRINGBONE+] collection(/products?collection=herringbone-plus) - herringbone with increased durability

HERRINGBONE+ combines the herringbone layout with the parameters of the WOOD+ collection: 6 mm panel, 0.55 mm wearing layer, class 23/33 and 25-year warranty for home use. This is a solution for interiors in which the herringbone is also to appear in high-traffic areas, such as halls, dining rooms or living rooms connected to the kitchen, as well as in representative commercial spaces, for example boutiques, cafes or hotels.

HERRINGBONE+ decors:

  • GRENOBLE - light, natural oak
  • LILLE - light wood in a warm, slightly pinkish tone
  • LYON - warm, honey shade
  • NICE - light decor in a beige-olive tone
  • PARIS - natural wood in a medium shade

Which collection should you choose? Quick tip

  • Universal floor for residential interiors - WOOD
  • Herringbone for the living room, bedroom or hall - HERRINGBONE
  • High-traffic rooms such as halls, corridors and open living areas - WOOD+ or HERRINGBONE+ with a 0.55 mm wearing layer
  • Offices, shops and service premises with intensive traffic - WOOD+ or HERRINGBONE+ with class 33
  • One floor in the entire interior - a collection selected for the most heavily loaded room, for example a hall or kitchen

Frequently asked questions

Are VinCore floors suitable for bathrooms?

Yes. All collections have an SPC core and are fully waterproof, which is why the manufacturer indicates them as a good solution for rooms exposed to moisture, such as the kitchen and bathroom.

Is additional primer needed?

NO. Each panel has an integrated IXPE foam backing, so there is no need to purchase the backing separately.

Can VinCore panels be placed on underfloor heating?

Yes, installation on underfloor heating is allowed under certain conditions, described in the installation instructions.

What is the difference between a 0.30 mm and 0.55 mm wearing layer?

The wear layer is a transparent layer that protects the wood pattern. The thicker it is, the better the floor endures intensive use. Therefore, collections with plus (0.55 mm) have a higher commercial usability class and a longer warranty for home use.

Summary

All VinCore collections are united by a waterproof SPC core, integrated IXPE foam backing, good acoustic insulation and click assembly. The choice comes down to two decisions: the format, i.e. board (WOOD, WOOD+) or herringbone (HERRINGBONE, HERRINGBONE+), and the level of durability adapted to the intensity of traffic. The standard versions will work well in most residential interiors, while the plus versions are recommended in intensively used areas and commercial facilities. Before purchasing, it is worth viewing the selected decors in the showroom, because the colors on the screen may differ from the real ones.
